OOSH (Student Care Centre)


OOSH (Out of School Hours) is Rainbow Centre's student care centre for persons with disabilities aged 7-18. Here, students can engage in purposeful and functional activities in a safe, nurturing, and creative environment.


The space is strategically structured into four zones for imaginative play, creative arts, reading and self-regulation. 


Leisure and recreational activities are carefully designed to provide students with multiple learning opportunities. All these promote social and life skills development as well as enhance their quality of life. 



We aim to develop in our students:

  • A strong sense of identity
  • Connection with their world
  • A strong sense of well-being
  • Confidence and involvement in their learning and effective communication skills


Admission criteria:

  • Students aged 7-18 years
  • Currently enrolled in a Special Education (SPED) school
  • Diagnosed by a medical practitioner in Singapore to have Autism Spectrum Disorder, or an intellectual and/or physical disability
  • Able to participate in small group activities; applicant should not require one-to-one adult supervision and/or have any major disruptive behaviours e.g. self-injury
  • Require minimal to moderate assistance in activities of daily living (toileting, bathing, feeding, etc)
  • A Singapore Citizen or Singapore permanent resident

Priority will given to:

  • Students of Rainbow Centre SPED schools
  • Students whose parent(s) are working and have no alternative care arrangements
