The
volunteers and staff of Rainbow Centre work hand in hand as a team to
enhance the quality of services provided by Rainbow Centre. The volunteer
programme is coordinated at the respective schools with the social worker
as the co-ordinator. At MDSS, the programme is co-assisted by a
volunteer, Mr. Jeffrey Cheah who has been a volunteer with the school
since 1996.
We have a total of no less than 100 regular volunteers comprising of
professionals and non-professionals. The professionals includes members
on the Executive Committee of Rainbow Centre and the School Management
Committee, ENT surgeons, ophthalmologists and orthopedists, dentists,
an orthopedic surgeon and a sign language course instructor. The non-professional
volunteers assists teachers and therapists in the class and therapy sessions
in our schools on a regular basis. We also have volunteers from the Armed
Forces involved on project basis.
