Structured Teaching is used for several reasons – to facilitate receptive communication, promote learning support and independence, and reduce behaviour challenges. Systematic Instruction is a way of helping students learn and use new skills while doubling up as a framework for teachers to communicate about their students’ learning and level of independence. These are key skills teachers must master to work with persons with disabilities.

This course equips you with the know-how of Structured Teaching and Systematic Instruction. You will examine their fundamentals, how they help facilitate learning in persons with disabilities, and get plenty of learning opportunities to try them out in simulated peer teaching practices to perfect your skills.
