About the Role

The Senior Executive, Partnership & Engagement manages volunteer resources to assist in the delivery of Rainbow Centre’s programmes and services. This includes directly managing volunteers, and/or providing guidance, support, resources, and tools to staff who supervise volunteers.

Responsibilities include:
a. Assess the needs, identify volunteer assignments and develop volunteer position descriptions in consultation with staff as appropriate.
b. Develop, implement, evaluate, and improve the volunteer programmes in line with the mission of Rainbow Centre.
c. Develop, administer, and review policies and procedures which guide the volunteer programmes and services, and its related operation matters.
d. Maintain the volunteer database.
e. Engage and recruit volunteers by publicising and promoting the volunteer programmes to enhance awareness and support of the volunteer programmes and of Rainbow Centre.
f. Develop and implement a screening process and interview protocol for potential volunteers
g. Establish, execute and review the volunteer engagement plan.
h. Train staff to work effectively and cooperatively with volunteers.
i. Conduct orientation for volunteers and ensure that volunteers are given appropriate training and supervision to be successful in their positions.
j. Assist with conflict resolution among staff and volunteers according to established procedures, should the need arise.
k. Establish and implement a process for evaluating the contribution of individual volunteers and administer a planned feedback mechanism from volunteers.
l. Plan and implement formal and informal volunteer recognition activities to recognise the contribution of volunteers.
m. Work as a team to assist in community engagement e.g. information activities, initiatives and projects, timeliness, keeping to high standards within budget.
n. Assist to coordinate, facilitate and undertake community engagement initiatives and ensure that public information provided is consistent with Rainbow Centre’s branding strategy.

Candidate Requirements

Technical Competencies:

  • A tertiary qualification in Communications, Public Relations, Social Science or other relevant fields and/or demonstrated substantial experience in community engagement
  • Three years or more of successful work experience in a similar or related field
